How to Ace Job Interviews - Hint: it's not about giving the right answers

Updated: Sep 7, 2020

Are you applying for a job?

Then this story is for you.

Imagine you just ordered a hamburger at McDonalds.

You are standing in line, with 30 people who ordered the same hamburger.

When your burger is ready, you notice that you lost your receipt.

Now the question is: will the person at the counter remember you?

When I finished university, I tried to give the "right" answer in job interviews.

I tried to avoid mistakes.

I tried to to minimize risk.

However, by being bland and boring, the only thing I was minimizing, was my chance to get a job.

A few interviews later, I took a different course of action.

I opened up and was more personal.

I shared that imperfection.

I asked that risky question.

That's when I started to receive offers - instead of another rejection.

Dare to be different.

Dare to stand out.

Dare to make an impression.

Consider this:

Three weeks after the job interview,

will they still remember you?
